WALTON – An 87-year-old Harvey County man was killed Tuesday morning on U-S 50 near the town of Walton.

Olin Schmidt was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Corsica and was struck by a semi at NE 6th on U-S 50 in Walton.

Schmidt had to be extricated from his vehicle and was then transported to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. He was pronounced dead at the hospital from the injuries he had sustained from the accident.

The name of the semi driver was not released nor was the exact time of the accident.
