Student housing issues ease at HCC

Through simple attrition, officials at Hutchinson Community College say they may not have to house any students at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center in the second semester. The Ramada and back when it was the Grand Prairie Hotel had a contract with HCC to provide student housing when the campus housing fills up.

This past semester 66-students were at the Ramada.

According to HCC, the last 24 move out at the end of the fall semester and will be moved into student housing next month. Some students going to mid term have moved in already.

Currently the school has 485 students in the dorms. Total capacity is just under 500.
