HAYS -A 21 year-old Hays man was injured in an ATV accident Tuesday morning north of Hays.

According to Ellis County Undersheriff Bruce Hertel, just before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday Wyatt Richardson, 21, Hays, was driving a Polaris Ranger 400 4-wheeler southbound in the 1100 block of 230th Avenue when the ATV hit an object in the roadway.

Richardson was partially ejected from the ATV and was dragged a short distance.

Hertel said Richardson is an employee of the Fort Hays State University farm and the ATV was owned by the farm.

Richardson was transported to Hays Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to Hertel.
