TOPEKA (AP) – A 51-year-old woman will stand trial in the death of her former husband and his fiancĂ©e.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that Dana Chandler was bound over for trial Monday in the shooting deaths of 47-year-old Mike Sisco and the woman he planned to marry, 53-year-old Karen Harkness. They were killed at their Topeka home in 2002.
Chandler, of Duncan, Okla., is charged with two counts of premeditated first-degree murder. The trial’s scheduled to start March 5 and last three weeks.
During a preliminary hearing last week, prosecutors and a defense attorney presented testimony that no physical evidence has been found to link Chandler to the crimes.
Testimony also included reports that Chandler harassed Sisco and Harkness, was evasive about her movements the weekend of the killings and spoke in the subsequent years of having wanted Sisco dead.
