Two-time Kansas sex offender draws life sentence

LYNDON (AP) – A northeastern Kansas judge has sentenced a twice-convicted sex offender to two life terms.

WIBW-TV 13 in Topeka reports that 50-year-old James G. Beeson won’t be eligible for parole until he serves 80 years of the sentence imposed Monday in Osage County District Court.

Beeson was convicted in May of multiple counts of rape, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated criminal sodomy. Prosecutors said the charges involved crimes Beeson
committed in 2007 and 2009 against a 9-year-old relative.

Beeson previously served more than a decade in prison in Missouri for sex crimes against a child there.
