BIRD CITY- A Kansas woman died in an accident just after 10a.m. on Monday in Cheyenne County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1996 Chevy Suburban driven by Sandra Katherine Haselhhorst, 64, Hays, was traveling on U.S. 36 in Bird City when she suffered a medical condition.

The suburban traveled left of center, went off the south side of the roadway, crossed over County Road 29, and hit a sign.

The vehicle came to rest is a large puddle of water.

Haselhorst was transported to the Cheyenne County Hospital where she died.

She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
