TOPEKA, Kan. – At the annual Kansas Emergency Medical Services Association Conference and Expo held this past weekend, four Kansas organizations received distinct recognition for lifesaving work, including Reno County EMS.

Mission: Lifeline® is the American Heart Association’s program for improving cardiovascular systems of care.

They were able to recognize EMS professionals who put evidence-based guidelines to work in a timely setting, providing treatment for patients.

Organizations can receive one of the three awards in a 2014 calendar year, which included the bronze, silver and gold.

Reno County received a silver award along with the American Medical Response in Topeka.

The Franklin County EMS in Ottawa and the Kansas City, Kansas First Department both received bronze awards.
