HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The 20-year-old Hutchinson man arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon has been formally charged.
Dakota Joy appeared from the Reno County Jail where he was read the charge. The state is accusing him of going to a home in the 500 block of Grandview and yelling at one of the occupants. He was allegedly holding a knife at the time. The intended victim, 19-year-old Zane Mountain, told police that he felt threatened by Joy. But, in court Joy denied that this alleged incident even occurred.
He’s jailed on a $2,500. bond, but he requested a reduction which was denied. Judge Joe McCarville indicating that he had lowered it once and wasn’t going to do it again.
The case will now move to a future waiver-status docket.
