KANSAS CITY, KANSAS – 32-year-old Gustave Wilhelm Brune, of Eudora is charged with failing to register as a sex offender as required by federal law. The crime is alleged to have occurred Nov. 30, 2011, in Douglas County.
The indictment alleges that in 2001 he was convicted in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan., on a charge of possessing pornography and ordered to served a 27-month prison sentence.
If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000. The U.S. Marshals Service investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kim Martin is prosecuting.

40-year-old Antonio Medina-Alvarez is charged with two counts of distributing cocaine and one count of distributing methamphetamine. The crimes are alleged to have occurred in July and November 2011 in Dodge City.

43-year-old Gabriel Berumen, a citizen of Mexico, is charged with unlawfully re-entering the United States after being convicted of an aggravated felony and deported. He was found Dec. 8, 2011, in Sedgwick County.
If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years without parole and a fine up to $250,000.
