Accident sends five to the hospital in Hutchinson

LANGDON – Four people were taken to a hospital in Hutchinson after a car semi crash along U-S 50 in western Reno County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 28-year-old Tammy Togersen of Lorraine, Kansas was southbound on Langdon Road, while the Kenworth semi driven by 55-year-old Johnny Nikkel of Newton was westbound. Togersen stopped at the intersection and proceeded through the intersection, but then the left rear of her vehicle was struck by the left front part of the semi. Her vehicle came to rest in the southwest ditch at the intersection and the semi came to rest on the south shoulder of U-S 50.

Togersen and her passengers, four-year-old Cadence Togersen, six-year-old Jacob Togersen, eight-year-old Andriane Togersen, and Nikkel were all taken to Promise Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson for treatment of their injuries.

The accident occurring around 1:20 p-m Saturday on 50-highway at Langdon Road in Reno County.
