Newton man hospitalized after rear-end collision

KHPWICHITA, Kan. — A Newton man was injured in an accident just before 4p.m. on Tuesday in Sedgwick County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1990 Chevy Lumina driven by Brandon Hessman, 30, Newton, was westbound on Kansas 96 in Wichita.

The vehicle rear-ended a westbound 2012 Scion driven by Alisha Gilbert, 21, Wichita, that has slowed for traffic.

Hessman was transported to Wesley Medical Center. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the KHP.

Gilbert was not injured.
