NEWTON, Kan. – During the noon hour Monday, Newton Police were dispatched to Walmart for reported shoplifters. The suspects were fleeing the area in a vehicle and an officer spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop it.

The driver failed to stop and fled the area, leading to a short pursuit where the suspects abandoned their vehicle at SW 60th & West Road.

A perimeter was set up and the suspects were subsequently arrested without incident.

Their names were not released.
