HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 33-year-old man who is no stranger to law enforcement was before a Judge Friday for a new charge of aggravated battery.

Roger Weber Jr. is charged with aggravated battery for an altercation that occurred on Oct. 2. He’s alleged to have battered Sean Anthony Davis during that altercation. The charge is a level 7 person felony with a sentencing range of 11 to 34 months in prison depending on criminal history.

Weber has other convictions for burglary and drug charges as well as a conviction for failing to register as a drug offender, those convictions from Reno County. He also has two convictions in Harvey County for theft and possession of a precursor to making methamphetamine.

With the new case filed against him, the case will now move to a waiver-status docket in front of Judge Joe McCarville on Oct. 28.
