A 29-year-old Hutchinson man who’s already facing one felony case of selling methamphetamine is now facing a second case along with a Hutchinson woman.

Joshua Bietka along with Lisa Teeters are both charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell within a thousand feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package, possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance and possession of personal use drug paraphernalia and no drug tax stamp.

The case starts on December 21, with a South Hutchinson police officer driving through the parking lot of the Trails West Motel in South Hutchinson and spotted a man wearing a black coat that he believed might have warrants. That man was later identified as Bietka. The officer says Bietka was leaning into a vehicle belonging to a man who they identified as Jason Byers. But, before the officer could make contact with Bietka, he went into motel room 122. The officer did make contact with Teeters who was also reaching into the vehicle. She wouldn’t give the officer her full name or the name of the man who ran into the room. She was then arrested for obstruction as they were searching her while taking her into custoday, they allegedly found a syringe, several clear plastic baggies and nearly 3-thousand dollars in cash in her pocket. The substance in the syringe tested positive for meth.

They eventually made contact with Bietka and he was arrested on outstanding warrants, and that led to a search of the room and police say they seized another syringe containing a liquid which field tested for meth and a white plastic bag that contained approximately 5-grams of a white crystal substance the tested positive for meth.

The room is apparently within a thousand feet of South Hutchinson Elementary School.

In the other case facing Bietka, he was allegedly caught selling meth in October at a car wash across from K-Mart on East 30th.

A Reno County Sheriff’s Deputy approached two men, and one fled the scene, while Bietka was told he was under arrest for active warrants. The deputy then did a body search and alleges he found a sandwich bag containing 4.75 grams of ice meth in one of his pockets. He then alleges he found another bag of meth in a stall of the car wash, where the other man had fled. That bag reportedly weighed 28-grams. They then did a search of the vehicle Bietka was reportedly in, and allege they found a scale with residue on it, owe sheets, along with several notices to appear in court.

In this latest case, both Bietka and Teeters are free on bond, with Bietka posting 13-thousand, 500, and Teeters around 14-thousand.

The new case will now be placed on the waiver-status docket next month.
