McPHERSON, Kan. – One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident Saturday night in the city of McPherson. According to police there, the accident occurred at Kansas Avenue and Maxwell Street.

Both vehicles were traveling east bound. The first was stopped for a red traffic light. The second struck the first vehicle’s rear end. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital in McPherson where he later died.

The first vehicle held five occupants, three of whom were taken to the hospital in McPherson, one by private vehicle. None of their injuries were life threatening, according to police.

The accident occurred around 10:45 p.m. Saturday. No names have been released.
