Accident sends elderly Buhler man to the hospital

Just after 2:30 p-m Friday, Reno County Sheriff’s Deputies, as well as Hutchinson Fire and Reno County EMS, responded to a single vehicle crash, at 4th and Buhler Rd.

The initial investigation reveals that the 1992 Toyota passenger car was east bound on 4th, failed to stop at the stop sign at Buhler Rd., then crossed the roadway and went into the north east ditch of the intersection and struck an AT&T phone box and then went through the fence that surrounds the Cottonwood Hills Golf Property.

The driver, 89-year-old Archie Smith, of Buhler, received unknown type injuries and was transported to Promise Regional Medical Center by Reno County EMS. He was wearing a seat belt.
