TOPEKA – Abby Brownback, the oldest daughter of Kansas Governor Sam Brownback and First Lady Mary Brownback, married Eric Teetsel in a Saturday afternoon ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church in Topeka. It is the same church where the Governor and Mrs. Brownback married 29-years-ago.

Abby is an education reporter for The Gazette, a weekly newspaper in Prince George’s County outside Washington, D.C. She received her undergraduate degree in journalism at Kansas State University and a Master of Journalism degree in public affairs reporting from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Eric is a program manager at American Enterprise Institute. He earned his undergraduate degree in interpersonal communication from Wheaton College and a Master’s in Education from Azusa Pacific University. He is the son of Bob and Cheryl Renee Teetsel.

The couple will reside in the Washington, D.C., area.
