KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) – Kansas City, Kan., police say a 3-year-old girl was critically injured when she was hit by a car.

Police are trying to determine why the girl, whose name was not released, was in the street about 2 a.m. Sunday before she was hit.

Neighbors told KSHB-TV 41 that cars often speed along the street. Further details of the case have not been released.
