VITA volunteers prepare basic tax returns for individuals and families and file them electronically every Tuesday from 8:30 to 6:30 or Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 2:30.

Besides your tax documents and last year’s return, bring a photo ID and social security cards for all persons claimed. VITA is a service of the Volunteer Center of Reno County. Find them in The Salvation Army Building at 700 N. Walnut. It’s help for anyone of any age who made under $54,000 last year.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Charles K. Campbell’s feature film All or Nothin’ is showing at the Barron Theatre in Pratt on Sunday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m.

The film, based on events in 1853, depicts the mission to transport an enslaved family via the Underground Railroad to Canada.

All or Nothin’ also follows the heroic efforts of Laura Haviland in Haviland, Kansas. The film will also be shown at Friends Church in Haviland on Monday, Jan. 15.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Nearly 200 kids will get a Christmas this year thanks to area listeners of Country 102.9. Held annually, Adopt-A-Child ensures area kids will get a Christmas.

None of it would be possible without the generosity of local listeners.

Bob Ratley, an avid listener of Country 102.9, recently lost his daughter. In her memory, Bob donated enough gifts to give more than two dozen kids a Christmas this year.
