HUTCHINSON, Kan. – As expected, Reno County Commissioners approved a rate increase for the landfill during their regular agenda session on Tuesday.

Landfill fees will increase by $.75 per ton for the five counties that use the landfill, and a similar $.75 increase per year for Reno County residents. The increase would make the total landfill assessment on a resident’s taxes $70.75.

Rates for the five outside counties that use the landfill would go up in the next budget year while Reno County residents won’t see the increase until the fall of 2016.
