HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Work continues on the new fire station located at East E Avenue and Walnut.

Masonry work is well under way on what will be the first of three new fire stations in the city in the coming years. The next fire station to be replaced will be at 11th and Hendricks and is scheduled for some time next year. A third station will then be constructed in an area near the Kansas State Fairgrounds.

Work on the East E station should be completed by late summer or early fall.
