PRATT COUNTY- Two people were injured in an accident just before 6p.m. Wednesday in Pratt County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Ford Fusion driven by Jose Cortez, 24, Ulysses, was eastbound on U.S. 54 one mile east of Pratt. The driver attempted to make a U-turn at the intersection of SE 25th.

An eastbound 2017 Freightliner semi driven by Jon Huckins, 58, Wichita, and the Fusion collided at the intersection.

Cortez was transported to the hospital in Pratt. A passenger in the Fusion Sean M. Pilger, 19, Pratt, was transported to the hospital in Wichita. Huckins was not injured.

All three were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
