SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Two people were injured in an accident Wednesday morning in Reno County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a car driven by 21-year-old Lauren Rust of Hutchinson was southbound on K-14 at the K-96 interchange when she struck a trailer being pulled by a pickup. The truck was driven by 35-year-old Yachal Benedick of Wisley, Kansas, who was attempting a left turn from the northbound lane of K-96 on to K-14.

Rust and a passenger, 18-year-old Graciela Diaz of Hutchinson, were transported by private vehicles to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center where they were treated and released. Benedick and two passengers in the pickup were not injured.

The accident happened around 8:30 a.m., two miles south of South Hutchinson.
