TOPEKA – The Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force will present 95-awards to 55-schools in 37-Kansas public school districts as part of the 2011 Challenge Awards.

These awards are designed to recognize Kansas schools that are making a significant difference in student achievement despite facing significant challenges in school population.

“The Challenge Awards recognize schools that provide tangible proof of the long-held contention that all children can learn,” said Charles Volland, chairman of the Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force. “These schools are to be commended for overcoming the very real challenges that poverty poses to education.”
