HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Despite a light agenda, commissioners have a busy day of meetings coming next week.

After the agenda meeting Tuesday morning, they’ll have a joint meeting with the Hutchinson City Council at 11:30 a.m. at the Reno County Correctional Facility’s Fountain Hall.

They will also hold a public hearing Tuesday evening at 7 at the First Church of the Nazarene at 4290 N. Monroe. This hearing is being held for comments and concerns regarding the petition to incorporate the Highlands as a third class city. Some in that golf community wanted to become a city to help with infrastructure issues.

During their regular meeting Tuesday, they will discuss establishing Aug. 1 at 9 a.m. as a public hearing over any and all written or oral objections to the respective assessments set for the Blue Spruce Sewer District 3-10 improvements.

They will also consider for publication a notice of hearing and statement cost proposed to be assessed to all owners affected by such assessments. This includes documents that will be presented to the county clerk and made available for public inspection for the Blue Spruce Sewer District.

Added to that, the commission will consider a quitclaim deed of 0.34 acres of non-essential property in the addition adjacent to property owned by Keri and Wendall Miller.

They will also get a department head update from Nick Baldetti, Director of the Reno County Health Department.

The regular Tuesday meeting starts at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Reno County Courthouse.
