HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 20 year old Hutchinson woman was taken to a Wichita hospital after she suffered single stab wound to her chest.

Maura Valtierra was apparently at a party where drinking was going on early Sunday when the incident occurred. She apparently didn’t even know she had been stabbed till she went to a vehicle to leave and was then taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment. Later she was transferred to Wesley Medical Center.

According to Hutchinson Police Detective Tyson Myers, she was still at the hospital Monday morning as the investigation continued. Her wound is not life threatening according to Tyson and says, he’s still trying to determine how the stabbing incident occurred, but ruled out it being a domestic squabble.

No arrest have been made in the case thus far which reportedly occurred around 3:30 a.m., Sunday morning.
