CINCINNATI — Kroger and Vitacost.com, Inc., an online retailer of healthy living products, announced the completion of Kroger’s purchase all outstanding shares of common stock of Vitacost.com. The tender price was $8 per share in cash. 

Kroger of course is the parent company of Dillon’s food store and is located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Vitacost.com, Inc. is a leading online retailer of health and wellness products, including dietary supplements such as vitamins, minerals, herbs and other botanicals, amino acids and metabolites, as well as cosmetics, organic body and personal care products, pet products, sports nutrition and health foods.

The acquisition of Vitacost.com was announced by Kroger in July.
