WALTON – An 88-year-old Peabody man taken to a Wichita hospital after a one vehicle crash just outside of Walton in Harvey County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Angel Torres was westbound on U-S 50, and due to heavy rain in that area and wet roads, his vehicle hydroplaned and slid off the east side of the highway. The vehicle then vaulted into the air and struck the side of a parked train car.

Torres was taken to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita for treatment of injuries.

The accident occurring around 9:20 a-m Sunday morning.
