PRESTON – A 78-year-old Stafford woman was killed in a 3-vehicle accident including a semi in northern Pratt County Monday afternoon.

Virginia H. Sell was traveling eastbound on K-61 and was slowing or had stopped attempting to make a left turn onto Northeast 70th Avenue. Her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Jennifer Ann Dale of Preston. That forced her vehicle into the westbound lanes where it was struck by a Peterbuilt semi driven by 41-year-old Anthony Franklin Villanueva of Aurora, Missouri.

Sell was pronounced dead at the scene, while Dale was taken to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita. Neither Villanueva, nor his passenger were injured.

The accident forced the closing of the highway whilel emergency officials worked the accident which occurred around 3:15 p-m Monday, about 3-miles west of Preston in Pratt County.
