SALINA – One person was killed after a car-motorcycle accident in Saline County Friday evening. Killed was 45-year-old Bradley Gearheart of Assaria.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 29-year-old Shawn Farley of McPherson was westbound on Business 81 highway, and crossed the center line, striking a motorcycle driven by Gearheart who was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.
Farley was taken to Salina Regional with injuries, but was later booked into the Saline County Jail on charges of driving under the influence, involuntary manslaughter; while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and aggravated endangering a child due to the 7-year-old that was traveling in the minivan with Farley. The 7-year-old was not injured according to reports.
The accident occurring just after 9 p-m, about 12-miles south of Salina in southern Saline County.
