HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 41-year-old Hutchinson man was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center after a one-vehicle crash north of Hutchinson early Thursday morning.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Jared D. Cano was northbound on K-61 traveling in the left lane when he swerved to avoid an animal, then entered the median, overcorrected and crossed both northbound lanes and struck a guardrail with the vehicle coming to rest on the side of the road.

The accident occurred around 7:10 a.m. near the 85th Street, Medora Road exit on K-61 near the town of Medora.
