UPDATE: Accident Injures Two In Downtown Hutchinson

Accident Scene

Two people were taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center after a two vehicle crash at First & Main around 10:50 a-m, Tuesday morning.

Apparently, a small east-bound White Toyota driven by 50-year-old Christi Ireland of Wichita was attempting to turn north on Main off of First Street and pulled in front of an eastbound Chevy Equinox driven by 29-year-old Dustin Teague of Hutchinson. That caused both vehicles to end up on the northwest side of the intersection.

Ireland’s passenger, 84-year-old Eulua Deming of Hutchinson had to removed from the vehicle using the jaws of life. Both women were taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment. Teague was not injured.

The accident closed off the southbound lanes of Main and all of First Street while emergency crews worked the accident scene.

Ireland was cited for failing to yield while making a left turn.
