PLEASANTVIEW, Kan. — A Hutchinson man was killed in a motorcycle accident Monday afternoon in Reno County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 33-year-old Michael Nelson was going west on US-50, when a van driven by 56-year-old Karen Reyes, of Hutchinson, pulled out onto the highway from Dean Road. Nelson hit the Reyes vehicle in the side. Kansas Highway Patrol reported Nelson was not wearing a helmet. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Reyes was uninjured.

The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. in Pleasantview, or about 5 miles west of South Hutchinson.
