MOUNDRIDGE – One person was taken to the Newton Medical Center after a crash Wednesday morning on I-135 in McPherson County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 23-year-old Joseph S. Tuszynski of Newton was northbound when he lost control of his Ford Focus, went into the left lane and came to a stop. His vehicle was then hit by a vehicle that was traveling behind him.

Tuszynski was taken to the Newton Medical Center for treatment, while the driver and passenger in the other vehicle were not injured. That included the driver, 65-year-old Rachel Hughey and her passenger, 62-year-old Joeanne Moore, both of Wichita.

The accident occurring just after 7:30 a-m, just south of the Moundridge exit, along I-135.
