HUTCHINSON, Kan. – An accident Wednesday morning just before 7:30 a.m. turned out to fairly minor according to Hutchinson Police Sgt. Brian Hirt.
Janet Gobber was westbound on 30th in her minivan and apparently ran the red light at K-61 and struck a southbound van driven by Douglas Mack causing her van to flip over on its top.
There were reports that she was trapped inside her vehicle, but Sgt. Hirt says she mainly got caught up in the seat-belt.
Gobber was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center to be checked out. Sgt. Hirt says her having her seat belt fastened kept her from suffering serious injury.
The accident did cause some traffic headaches for those commuting to work on the northeast side of Hutchinson.
