One person was taken to a Wichita hospital after a two vehicle accident at 3 rd & Poplar in Hutchinson Wednesday afternoon.

Police say a westbound Nissan Maxima driven by 19-year-old Michael P. Fleming of Haven disobeyed the stop sign at Poplar and collided with a southbound Pontiac Sunfire driven by 68-year-old Claire E. Rhoades of Hutchinson.

Rhoades was first transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, then later transported by ground ambulance to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita suffering internal injuries.

Fleming was uninjured after the crash that occurred around 3:45 p-m.

This collision is still under investigation by the Hutchinson Police Department Traffic Bureau
