A 32-year-old Great Bend man was taken to the hospital in Stafford late Thursday after a one vehicle accident.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Steven Denio was eastbound on Northeast 5th, at a high rate of speed. When the roadway changed from blacktop to gravel, he lost control, entered the right ditch and then struck an embankment.

The accident occurring around 10:15 p-m, just east of Stafford.
