ELLSWORTH – A 53-year-old McPherson man was taken to a Salina hospital after a one vehicle accident in Ellsworth County Monday morning. Taken to Salina Regional Hospital was Barry Hardman.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, he was westbound on I-70 when he apparently fell asleep. His Chevy truck then drifted off the right side of the roadway where it traveled through the ditch, before striking a concrete bridge structure. He was trapped in his vehicle until help could arrive.

The accident occurring about 8:40 a-m, about four and half miles west of the K-14 junction in Ellsworth County.
