A 70-year-old Wichita man was taken to the hospital in McPherson after an accident over the weekend.
Stanley Zajkowsky apparently struck a large piece of metal that came from the trailer of another vehicle on I-135 on Sunday afternoon. He was taken to McPherson Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 64-year-old Jerald Edward Jones of Golden, Colorado was southbound on the interstate when his trailer came disconnected from his pickup. Tie downs on the trailer broke and that’s when the large piece of metal fell off the trailer coming to rest in the passing lane. That’s when Zajkowsky struck the metal.
Jones was not injured in the accident which occurred just before 1:30 p-m, Sunday afternoon, near the U-S 56 interchange on the east edge of McPherson.
