One man was taken to a Wichita hospital after a car-pedestrian accident at 17th & Lorraine Tuesday afternoon.

According to Hutchinson Police, 35-year-old Doug K. Engle was crossing 17th, just to the west of Lorraine. He was struck on the inside lane of the westbound lanes by a red SUV operated by 24-year-old Brian Bonebright of Hutchinson.

Engle was transported by Midwest Lifeteam to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita for possible head injuries and severe shoulder injuries.

Engle was knocked into the air according to witnesses, and then landed on the westbound lanes of the roadway.

The accident occurring around 12:49 p-m.
