PARTRIDGE, Kan. — A 71-year-old man was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident in Partridge yesterday evening.

James Coffin of Wichita says his vehicle was struck by a pickup in the intersection of F and Lyons streets in Partridge. The pickup was driven by 27-year-old Nicholas Smith of Garden Plain.

Smith had been northbound on Lyons Street and failed to stop at the stop sign and struck Coffin’s vehicle. Coffin was evaluated and transported by EMS to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Smith and his passenger, 29-year-old James Motis of Wichita, reported no injuries and were wearing their seat belts.

The accident occurred just after 7:30 p.m.
