GREAT BEND (AP) – A forensic scientist has testified that DNA from a 14-year-old Great Bend girl was found in the vehicle of the man accused in her death.

James Newman of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation took the stand for the state Tuesday in the trial of 38-year-old Adam Longoria.

Newman testified about testing body fluids found in the driver’s side floor mat of Longoria’s vehicle. He said the test showed a mixture of DNA from both Longoria and Alicia DeBolt.

Longoria is being tried on a charge of capital murder in Alicia’s August 2010 death.

Newman said a tiny amount of DNA from an unknown male was found in a sample taken from the dead girl’s mouth. But he said that sample may have been contaminated.

He returns to the stand Wednesday for cross-examination.

In Tuesday morning’s testimony, Miguel Armendariz, also known as Ghetto, took the witness stand. He said he met Longoria while playing basketball at Heizer Park in Great Bend. He testified that he was at Eva Brown’s Party on July 17, 2010 and said he saw Longoria there. He testified that he met Debolt at that party, and that the defendant acted interested in her. Armendariz said that he told Longoria that Debolt was too young for him, but Longoria didn’t seem to care. He said he was at a Quinciara party the night of August 21st, 2010. He said Longoria never worked on his car that night, contradicting the statement allegedly made by Longoria to Eva Brown.

Rolando Molina testified that he was at Eva Brown’s party July 17th, 2010 when Longoria and DeBolt first met. He said Longoria was hitting on DeBolt, and wanted to buy her clothes and take her to a nail salon. Molina also said days later, Alicia told him Longoria kept texting her and that it creeped her out.

Emmanuel Ferrell also testified Tuesday morning, saying that Longoria asked him to lie and say he was at Willy J’s the night of August 21st.

AmPride employee Sloan Folk testified she was working at the store a few days after Alicia went missing. She said Longoria walked out of the store without paying for a drink. When she confronted him he apologized and said he was distracted by the whole missing girl thing. Folk said Longoria then proceeded to tell her his whole story about being at Willy J’s that night.
