Another Hutchinson Church Gets Hit, This Time It’s A Burglary Report

Once again, a local church has damage with money and other items stolen. The theft this time was at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at 407 East 12th.

They reported to police Tuesday morning that someone had forced entry into the church sometime over night. They say property was damaged, money and misc electronics were taken in the break-in.

But, police believe this is a little different then the previous incidents involving other churches, where there was mainly damage to the churches, and items inside.

In this case, it was more of an actual burglary according to police, where they broke in, took a minor amount of cash and some small electronics.

According to the churches Facebook page, they broke some windows, stole some money, computer equipment and got away with keys to the church. They say new locks have already been put on the doors.

The last church to be hit prior to this report was the Eastwood Church of Christ. In that case, vandals emptied five fire extinguishers, after breaking a window to get in, but apparently didn’t take anything.

Back in April, vandals burglarized Grace Episcopal Church with the estimate of damage to stained glass windows to be in the thousands of dollars.

And, in late March, someone got into Tenth Avenue United Methodist church and stopped up the toilet causing it to flood the church.

No arrest have been made in any of these cases.
