Another Suspect In Attempted Murder Case Jailed

A another suspect in the beating and stabbing of a Hutchinson man has been arrested.

18-year-old Joseph Jay Leshore is now jailed on a 250-thousand dollar bond charged with attempted first degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated burglary.

He’s one of four men believed directly involved in the beating and stabbing of Jeffrey Payne.

Police are still looking for 19-year-old Desmond Xavier Cantu who stands around 6 foot and weighs 160-lbs and 19-year-old Troy Lavon Bell. He stand approximately 5 foot 7 and weighs 150-lbs. These two have active warrants for attempted 1st degree murder.

Another suspect, Jordon LeShore made a first appearance on the charges against him Wednesday morning where he was read the formal complaint. His case now moves to a waiver-status docket next month.

Another man arrested, Sean Arevalo is charged with aggravated burglary, conspiracy to commit aggravated battery, and interference with law enforcement. He’s free on a bond of 16-thousand, 500-dollars. He will make a first appearance on February 26.

Police say the incident started at around 11:40 p-m Monday night when several people allegedly forced open the door at 633 East 4th and once inside Payne was physically attacked and stabbed. He remains at a Wichita hospital.
