HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Two area airports will benefit from a series of grants announced by the FAA and the United States Department of Transportation.

Clyde Cessna Field in Kingman will receive a grant for $225,000. The money will be used to fund the airport’s master plan.

The other is the Newton City/County Airport. The facility located five miles east of Newton will get $191,160 for rehabilitation of a taxiway.

The money is part of $677 million in airport infrastructure grants.

The U.S. Department of Transportation says the 241 grants will fund 346 infrastructure projects that include runways, taxiways, aprons and terminals.
