PRATT COUNTY — Sheriff officials in Pratt are investigating an armed robbery at 8:40 p.m Friday.

Deputies were dispatched to the report and discovered a vehicle approximately 11.5 miles north of Pratt on U.S. 281 highway with multiple family members in the vehicle.

As they were traveling north, another vehicle passed them and then slowed in their lane of travel and stopped. Two men got out of a dark gray, small SUV-type vehicle and approached the driver. One of the men produced a handgun, broke out the driver’s side window and demanded money.

The driver handed over his billfold and, at that time, was hit in the head with the handgun. The two suspects got into their vehicle and fled north on U.S. 281.

Pratt County Emergency Services were called to treat the victim. The victim refused transport and was treated at the scene for a cut on his head.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. The Pratt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
