CHANUTE, Kan. — The Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons survived in overtime to beat Neosho 86-81.

Boubacar Kamissoko had back-to-back 3-pointers that gave Hutchinson a 31-27 lead with 4:12 to play in the first half.

Hutchinson’s Sequan Singleton led the team with 10 first-half points as Neosho put up seven 3-pointers. The Panthers stayed right on the Dragons’ heels as Hutchinson went into halftime with a three point lead at 38-35.

The second half went back and forth. With 8:30 left in the second, a turnover hurt the Blue Dragons as the Panthers tied the game 60-60.

The Dragons trailed by six with just 1:33 left in regulation.

Kamissoko hit two free throws to tie the game at 75 with 26.5 seconds. Neosho’s last-second shot in regulation didn’t come close and sent the game to OT.

Hutchinson used a season-high 34 free throws on 51 attempts to hold off the Panthers.

The Dragons held the Panthers to one field goal in OT and forced five turnovers.

Hutchinson has not lost in Chanute since December of 1965.

Coach Eck commented on what he would have changed in this hectic game:
