Carson Matthew Hall, 6, of Hutchinson, passed away in his mama’s arms surrounded by friends and family who loved him on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, from a rare form of brain cancer called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). He was born Jan. 5, 2012, in Hutchinson, the son of Matthew M. and Lindsey D. (Brackett) Hall.

Carson was a kindergarten student at Morgan Elementary School who loved Mickey Mouse, playing in the water, being at the beach, and spending time with family.

He is survived by: his parents; brother, Colton; grandparents, Mike and Sandi Brackett; uncle and aunt, Shaun and Amanda Brackett; cousin, Mason Brackett; grandparents, Frank and Glenda Hockridge; two aunts Jennifer Hall and Christina Hockridge; two great-grandmothers; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 140 E. 30th, Hutchinson, with Pastor Tim Carey officiating. The family requests that if you have a Carson’s Crusaders shirt to please wear that. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

Jimmie Dean ‘Jim’ Holzrichter, 69, of Hutchinson, died Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born February 14, 1948, in Hutchinson, the son of Henry F. and Helen M. (Kelly) Holzrichter.

Jim graduated from Burrton High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Southwestern College in 1970, where he was the kicker on the only undefeated football team in the history of Southwestern. Jim worked for 39 years at Eaton Corp., retiring in 2011. He officiated high school football and basketball for nearly 30 years and served as Commissioner of the Heart of America League for 10 years until retiring from officiating in 1996. Jim was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir and served as an usher. He was a member of the Beta Rho Mu fraternity and an avid Kansas Jayhawks and New York Yankees fan.

On January 22, 1977, Jim married Jane A. Tennant in Burrton. She survives. Other survivors include: daughters, Lindsay Holzrichter (Steven Carpenter) of Alexandria, VA, and Kelli Zehr (Scott) of Burrton; son, Heath Holzrichter (Jaclyn) of Burrton; grandchildren, Cooper and Alexis Zehr, Sydney and Cody Holzrichter, Henry and Amelia Carpenter; sister, Judy Cottingham (Kent) of Cornwall, PA; father-in-law, Ernest Tennant of Hutchinson; sisters-in-law, Patricia Lillard (Larry) and Linda Bass (Mel), all of Hutchinson; nieces, Brandy Kent and Mattie Lloyd; nephew, Dusty Lillard; three great-nieces and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helen Holzrichter; mother-in-law, Bonnie Tennant; and brother-in-law, Jake Tennant.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 N. Main, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Michael L. McGuire officiating. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the Common Ground room at the church.

Sue H. Martin, 74, of Hutchinson, died Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born March 12, 1943, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, to Robert and Rebecca (Hood) Heidel.

Sue graduated from high school in Benton, Mississippi, and attended Holmes Community College in Goodman, Mississippi. She was of the Methodist faith. Sue was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for Kiowa County Hospital in Greensburg.

On June 6, 1989, she married Vernon Martin. He survives. Other survivors include: son, Ray Johnston of Winfield; daughter, Michele Morris and husband Dustin of Kingman; grandchildren, William D. and Hunter L. Morris of Olathe, MacKenzie Johnston of Topeka, Brook Cullum of Dallas; and three stepchildren and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Rob Heidel.

Cremation has taken place. At Sue’s request, there will be no public services.

Keith Carleton Dube, 58, of Hutchinson, passed away on February 9, 2018, following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a lifelong resident of Hutchinson. Keith was born on January 24, 1960, in Hutchinson, to Armand and Betty (Miller) Dube. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1978, then attended Hutchinson Community College and Fort Hays State University. Keith was self-employed as a property manager and had previously owned a landscape maintenance company.

Keith’s great joy in his life was his children. He was a devoted father in every sense of the word.

His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by: his twin children, Ellie Tressie Ann Dube and Cooper Armand Dube; over 50 first cousins in the Boston area; and many friends.

Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Reverend Matt Stafford presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary. William Merrill Mills III, 75, of Hutchinson, died February 8, 2018. He was born July 5, 1942, in Topeka, to Margaret (Landon) and William Merrill Mills Jr. Bill graduated from Topeka High School in 1960, KU in 1964, with a bachelor’s degree in history and political science, and received his Juris Doctorate in 1967 from KU. While at KU, Bill was a co-captain and All-American swimmer for the KU swim team. He was also a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. After college, he worked as an attorney for Gilliland and Hayes until 1975, then joined the former Hutchinson National Bank as a trust officer. In 1994, he joined the Trust Company of Kansas, retiring as vice-president and trust officer in 2012. Bill served on many professional and community boards, including serving as a board member and past president of the Trust Division of the Kansas Bankers Association and Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Club. He also served as an officer for the Reno County Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, Living Land Foundation, and Training and Evaluation Center of Hutchinson. In addition, Bill was involved in a number of local, state, and national political campaigns. 

On July 10, 1965, he married Alice Cash in Abilene. They shared 52 years of marriage.

Bill is survived by: his wife, Alice of Hutchinson; children, Alyssa Mills of Hutchinson, Hilary Lindsey and husband Troy of Springfield, Missouri, William Mills of Austin, Texas, James Mills and wife Molly of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Nathalie, Allabelle, Claire, and Eleanor Lindsey, Finley, Lucy, and Anna James Mills; and sisters, Barbara Mills Byers of St. Paul, Minnesota , and Mary Mills Weil and husband David of Dundee, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Mills Ruckert and her husband, Dennis.

Bill will be remembered for his ever-present sense of humor and love of people. His family and clients valued his judgment and guidance. Bill never missed a summer at their cottage in Alexandria, MN where he enjoyed fishing, fireworks and spending time with his family.

Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Because of Bill’s love for the outdoors and Dillon Nature Center, the family invites friends to gather together for a time of celebrating and remembering Bill’s life between 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Dillon Nature Center, 3002 E. 30th, Hutchinson.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dillon Nature Center, TECH, or the Kansas Honors Scholars Program, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
