Christine L. Salgado, 65, died on October 24, 2017 in Kansas City, KS. She was born on March 4, 1952 the daughter of John L. Torrez and Bessie (Navarro) Torrez in Hoisington, KS.

Christine grew up in the Hoisington community, residing there until 1993. She graduated from Hoisington High School in 1970, and then attended Barton Community College, graduating with her Associate of Arts Degree in 1972.
In 1993, Christine relocated to Hutchinson for some time, and eventually moved back to her home town of Hoisington.

She was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church of Hutchinson and St. John’s Catholic Church of Hoisington.

Together for 14 years before uniting in marriage, on August 21, 2015 to Marcos Salgado in Great Bend, KS.

Christine worked for Krause Corporation, as the order desk manager until she entered retirement.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and a son Alexander Tonche.

Survivors include her husband Marcos Salgado; granddaughter Haleigh Marie Tonche- Kerns; Brother Arthur Torrez; two nieces, Jocelyn Torrez and Libby Torrez and her son Joshua; three aunts, Carmen Mello, Angelita Rivera and Frances Torrez; numerous cousins and her beloved dogs, Lobito, Weda and Mojo.

Private family visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 5-8p.m., Friday, Oct. 27th, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sat. Oct. 28th, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Private family Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Sat. Oct. 28th at 1:30 p.m. at the Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS.

There are no other services planned at this time.

Private family inurnment will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery.

Felix R. Wasinger, 93, of Hutchinson, died October 25, 2017, at Pleasant Hills, Hutchinson. He was born July 24, 1924, in Catharine, to Jacob J. and Elizabeth (Miller) Wasinger. Felix and his seven siblings were raised in the Hays area. He graduated from St. John’s Military Academy. Following high school, Felix was on active duty in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war, he returned to Hays where he attended and graduated from Fort Hays State University and earned his business degree. He worked for the U.S. Treasury Department for 33 years. In retirement, Felix was a co-owner of Wheatland Printing and later worked as an independent business and tax consultant.

On May 19, 1951, he married Mildred B. Withers in Wichita. Together they raised their four daughters, Karen, Mary, Joan and Laura in Hutchinson. Mildred died April 3, 1999. Later, Felix married Esther Bauman.

Felix is survived by: daughters, Karen Washburn of Hutchinson, Mary Grotz and husband John of Houston, Joan Rosenberg and husband Mark of Lincoln, NE, Laura Lockee and husband Brad of Pierce, NE; stepdaughter, Kathleen Haseldon Chrisman of Rose Hill; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; infant children, Elizabeth Ruth Wasinger, Alan Gerard Wasinger; son-in-law, John Washburn and seven siblings.

Rosary will be 7 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Parish Rosary will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2017, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 215 W. 13th St. Hays, with Father Earl Befort officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hays. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Terry Allen ‘Haney’ Manche Sr., 76, of Hutchinson, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born September 16, 1941, in Hutchinson, the son of Allen Junior and Dorothy (Osenbaugh) Manche.

He was a member of First Christian Church, Hutchinson. Terry was an antique collector and dealer. He loved to travel, having appraised lots of antiques on the Antique Roadshow. He was a man with a big heart.

On March 21, 1969, he married Karen Eileen Rayner in Newton, Kansas. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Hiebert of Phoenix, AZ, Chris Cunningham (James) of Houston, TX, Leslie Holmgren (Chris) of Wichita, Ava Manche, Sandy Bowlby (Jerry), Kenny (Pam), Terry Allen Jr., Dana Butler (Jake), all of Hutchinson; siblings, Eddie (Marla), Clifford, Jackie Crossman, Lonnie (Sherry), Tom (Vickie), all of Hutchinson, Danny of Landing, NJ, Donna Sallee (Kent) of Inman, and Judy Mackey (Ken) of Cottonwood Falls; 23 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Karen; son, Wayne Seiler; sister, Carol Stoughton; sister-in-law, Tina Manche; and grandson, Brandon Butler.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, at First Christian Church, 15 East 5th Avenue, Hutchinson, with Pastors Bob Phipps and Mel Parrott presiding. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday through Friday, with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

Betty Ritterhouse, 92, of Hutchinson, died Sunday, October 22, 2017, at her home. She was born February 12, 1925, in Lyons, the daughter of Clyde and Florence (Massie) Tener.

Betty was a homemaker, and was the ‘Story Lady’ at Hutchinson Public Library for twenty years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, DUO Sunday School class, and served on various boards at the church. Betty was also a member of National Campers and Hikers Association, Good Sams Camping Club, and volunteered at the Hutchinson Public Library.

On May 17, 1946, Betty married Fayne Lee Ritterhouse on horseback at First and Main streets in Hutchinson as part of the Diamond Jubilee. He died October 25, 2015. She is survived by: children, Becky Ritterhouse and husband Truman Barnes of Hampstead, Maryland, Kathy Ritterhouse of Grand Prairie, Texas, Terry Christner and husband Rex of Hutchinson, and Lee Ritterhouse of Derby; grandsons, Nathan Christner of Wichita, Ryan Christner, Dylan Christner, both of Hutchinson, Chris Ritterhouse, Sean Ritterhouse, both of Derby; and five great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Harold Tener, Raymond Tener, Marion Tener; and sister, Peggy Suttle.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 N. Main, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. The family would like to encourage everyone to wear red to the service. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

William Ralph Kerr, 73, of Hutchinson, died at home on Saturday, October 21, 2017, after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born September 9, 1944, in Lincoln, KS. He graduated from Salina High School in 1962. Bill retired from the Salina Journal Newspaper after 33 years of service.

Bill is survived by: wife, Joan of the home; daughters, Dawn Justice (Jamie), Denise Omli (David), Darcy Douglas (Josh); son, Andy Kerr (Stacy); 12 grandchildren; and siblings, Jim Kerr (Angel), Ray Kerr (Cheri), Wilma Burpee (Steve), and Verna Hamby (Neal).

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place and no service at this time. Elliott Mortuary and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
