Floyd W. Rosendahl | 1942 – 2018 |

Floyd W. Rosendahl, 76, died Friday, June 15, 2018, at Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie.  He was born April 10, 1942, in Kingman, to George and Florence (Thompson) Rosendahl.

Floyd attended Kingman High School and worked as a heavy equipment operator for various companies, including Venture Equipment in Great Bend and Shears Construction, Hutchinson.

On July 18, 1970, he married Marilyn Cook in Great Bend.

Floyd is survived by:  wife, Marilyn of Hutchinson; children, Tom Rosendahl and wife Cherry of Ellinwood, Gloria Turner and husband Harry of Texas, Rocky Hidde and wife Shanna of Russell, Terry Johnson, Loretta Rosendahl of Hutchinson; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, JeanAnn Diemart.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services.  Memorials may be made to the Floyd W. Rosendahl Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS  67501

Frances Day | 1935 – 2018 |

Frances Marie Day, 83, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Pleasant Hills, Hutchinson. She was born June 6, 1935, in rural McPherson County, the daughter of Frank Marion and Fern Marie (Holmes) Jordan.

Frances was a graduate of Lindsborg High School. She and her husband Marion, rode and trained horses for many years. They were founding members of the Sandhill Saddle Club and owned Marion Day Excavating for over 35 years. Her greatest joy later in life were her grandchildren, her horses, and her dog.

On August 3, 1956, Frances married Marion Carl Day in Phillipsburg. He died May 10, 2008. Surviving are: children, Danette Chermak and husband Andy, Justin Day, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Kaycee Chermak and finance’ Evan Slater of Florence, Becky Combs and husband Casey of Hutchinson, Heather Roberds and husband Dakota of Lubbock, TX, and Tyler Day of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Thelma Corley; brothers, Lloyd, Billy and Leroy Jordan.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, SE of Pretty Prairie, with Pastor John Branson presiding. Friends may sign her book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Reno County or Disability Supports of the Great Plains, Hutchinson, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Marvin “Nick” Neahring | 1940 – 2018 |

U.S. VeteranMarvin ‘Nick’ Neahring, 78, of Nickerson, died Monday, June 11, 2018, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born March 8, 1940, in Princeton, Illinois, to Edward and Bessie (Swanson) Neahring.

Nick graduated high school in Princeton, Illinois. He worked as journeyman for Spring Valley Sheet Metal in San Diego, CA. Nick was a member of the International Association of Sheet Metal Air, Rail and Transportation Workers Union Local 206. After moving to Nickerson, he worked at Woodwork Manufacturing, retiring in 2016. Nick served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964. He was a member of Nickerson United Methodist Church and attended CrossPoint Church, Hutchinson.

On May 17, 1986, he married Joyce Wright in San Diego, CA. She died February 13, 2018, after 31 years of marriage.
Nick is survived by: children, Paul Neahring (Tabitha) of Hutchinson, Wendy Harms (Fernando) of Hutchinson, Jeff Wright of Nickerson; grandchildren, Scott Neahring, Tyler Neahring, Chance Ruelas, Montana York, Cecil York, Lizzy York, Alex Hass (Tim), Lizzy Wright, Courtney McGarvey, Kyler Harms, Konner Harms; great-grandchildren, Grace Hass, Bradlie Hass; and brothers, Eddie Neahring (Connie) and Jim Neahring (Eula). He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Scott Neahring; sister, Sandra; and brothers, Cecil and Keith.

Celebration of Life service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Paul Thurston officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with military honors conducted by the United States Marine Corps. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, with the family present Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorials may be made to Nickerson United Methodist Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
